The OKF specification defines the bundle structure (markdown files with YAML
frontmatter, the `type` field, `okf_version`, reserved index and log files, the
provenance/trust/lifecycle field families, the actor convention, and link-based
graph edges) that this collection conforms to. The `x-civic` profile and all
sample content here are original works by TechSoup.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The civic/0.6 profile REQUIRES Candid's Philanthropy Classification System
(PCS) as the controlled vocabulary for its three classification fields —
`x-civic.subject` (PCS Subject facet), `x-civic.population` (PCS Population
facet), and `x-civic.org_type` (PCS OrgType facet). PCS codes, titles, and
scope notes carried in this collection — including the vendored subset at
`_shared/pcs/pcs-codes.json` and the generated hub pages in `_shared/pcs/` —
are derived from:

PCS is used under CC BY 4.0 with attribution to Candid. Titles and scope notes
are reproduced UNMODIFIED. The modification TechSoup makes is one of selection
only: `_shared/pcs/pcs-codes.json` is a SUBSET containing just the codes this
collection references, extracted by `scripts/extract_pcs.py` from Candid's
published 2024 taxonomy. No code was invented, renamed, re-parented, or
altered. Where no PCS code fit an organization's legal form, a level-1 parent
code was used deliberately and the record says so, rather than a closer-looking
child being asserted.

PCS must not be placed behind a premium charge for the ability to use it.

Note on the collection's contents: the fifteen organizations described here are
FABRICATED and every record describing one carries `synthetic: true`. The PCS
codes and the geographic places are real and carry `synthetic: false`. No real
organization's data appears anywhere in this collection.
