# Northern Ireland manual death notification route

Northern Ireland is outside Tell Us Once. The
[Bereavement Service](../organisations/northern-ireland-bereavement-service.md)
can record a death for Department for Communities benefit offices, while
nidirect identifies further bodies that may need individual contact.

This is not a claim that one Northern Ireland call covers every public body.
Banks, insurers, pensions, utilities and other accounts remain separate
[private notifications](../organisations/private-organisation-after-death.md).
