# Notify organisations after a death

This family records which body was told, by which route, using which evidence
and at what time. [Tell Us Once](tell-us-once.md) is available only within its
observed England, Scotland and Wales residence boundary. Northern Ireland uses
an independently sourced [manual notification route](northern-ireland-death-notifications.md).

Neither route covers every private bank, insurer, pension provider, employer
or utility. Each uncovered organisation retains its own current requirements.
