# Scotland speeding prosecution and court route
After the notice and driver-information stage, the selected
[Scotland context](../jurisdictions/scotland.md) does not import the England and
Wales single justice process. The
[Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service](../organisations/crown-office-and-procurator-fiscal-service.md)
publishes the Scottish prosecution decision framework. Its code includes a
conditional offer of fixed penalty for specified road traffic offences among
possible direct measures; COPFS decides the actual action.
The mygov.scot source identifies conviction and sentence appeal boundaries and
hands procedure to the current Scottish court route. This record does not
predict whether there will be an offer, prosecution, conviction, sentence or
appeal and gives no legal advice.
All facts were observed on 2026-08-07 and remain subject to the
[evidence limitations](../evidence/learning-to-drive-speeding-sources.md).
